Donna L. van Oosten, Licensed Unity Teacher

We are very happy to announce the coming on board, as Spiritual Leader, Donna Van Oosten, L.U.T.

I am so blessed to serve Unity Spiritual Community. I would like to share a little about myself and the journey that led me to this position as your Spiritual Leader.

My spiritual path began in October of 1979. Rev. Joan Gattuso was my first Unity teacher. As I studied with Rev. Joan and attended the Unity church, my husband and I began working with teens in the congregation. Eventually we led the Youth of Unity which is for young people ages 4-18. What a gift that ministry was for us. The powerful lesson of being authentic in word and deed was taught to us by those wonderful young people.

My husband John and I received the Distinguished Youth Service Award from the Association of Unity Churches in Kansas City for servicing children for over 20 years. We worked in the community and in the churches to raise their consciousnesses; to realize their own inner power, their beautiful light.

I became a Prayer Practitioner at Unity of Greater Cleveland, served on the Board of Advisors and assisted Rev. Joan Gattuso. It was then that I began to lecture. I have given numerous Sunday sermons, enjoying each Unity Center that I have had the pleasure of addressing in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Missouri.

I have enjoyed my years of study at Unity Village; it has been a gift. I have experienced its deep spiritual history many times; as a Youth of Unity Sponsor and as a student of Truth studying for my Licensed Unity Teacher credential.

I am a student of metaphysical principles at Unity Village in Kansas City, as well as a student of Dr. Jean Houston, attending school in New York and her intensive spiritual study that she offered in France. A student of the of the Course In Miracles, a student of Louise Hay; You Can Heal Your Life, and a student of Dr. Jerry Jampolsky, Attitudinal Healing, at the Center for Attitudinal Healing in California.

Rev. Roy Rackley, Unity Church of Christianity, is my mentor, my teacher and my guide as I serve as Spiritual Leader in the Unity Movement. I will always be grateful to Rev. Roy for his unconditional support and encouragement.

For more than 26 years I have given my tithes, my time and my talent to the Unity Movement. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to sharing with you the "fruits of the Spirit" as Charles and Myrtle Fillmore so freely shared with us.
