Rev Retha Martin will facilitate the class, “Making a Sacred Rug.” This is a fun and exciting class in learning how to create an interwoven braided rug. Using prayer and a joyful spirit, you will have a keepsake that will inspire you each time you see the product of your handiwork.
Cost: $25 for materials and a love offering will be taken for the class itself.

Sunday, October 19 Dinner Theater “I love a Piano” at Stocker Arts Center of Lorain Community College. Meet at the Masonic Temple parking lot at 5:30 pm. Dinner at the Cracker Barrel at 6 pm. Play 7:30 pm/ cost $34 for tickets. Dinner separate. Reservations required.

October 21 Berea Biz Expo ’08 5:00 – 8:00 Pm Polaris Career Center; 7285 Old Oak Blvd, Berea Unity Church of the Crossroads is an exhibitor once again at the Biz Expo. This is a great opportunity to showcase our church and The Board of Trustees will handout brochures and literature.

Friday, October 24 at 7 pm Church office Movie: Groundhog Day Suggested Love Offering: $5.00-- Bill Murray plays Phil, a TV weatherman working for a local station in Pennsylvania. Phil displays a charm and wit on camera that evaporates the moment the red light goes off; he is bitter, appallingly self-centered, and treats his co-workers with contempt, especially his producer Rita and cameraman Larry . On February 2, 1992, Phil, Rita, and Larry are sent on an assignment that Phil especially loathes: the annual Groundhog Day festivities in Punxsutawney, PA, where the citizens await the appearance of Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog who will supposedly determine the length of winter by his ability to see his own shadow. Phil is eager to beat a hasty retreat, but when a freak snowstorm strands him in Punxsutawney, he wakes up the next morning with the strangest sense of déjà vu: he seems to be living the same day over again.

October 26. Annual Meeting. 11:30 am following Sunday Worship Service
The annual meeting is a time to re-commit to our vision for Unity Church of the Crossroads. We gather after church in the sanctuary for the meeting and will have a light lunch following. We encourage you to be there to share in the love and joy and to add your consciousness to the process. This is the time to communicate with your leadership for the coming year.

Pampered Chef Fund Raiser – Sunday, November 02
Everyone is welcome to join us after fellowship hour to experience the representative from Pampered Chef demonstrate these amazing kitchen tools. The church benefits with a 25% return on gross sales. It’s a wonderful way to support our Unity church. Don’t forget that these make great and lasting Christmas gifts, too. Many thanks to Vivian Baith for organizing this fund raiser.

Wellness Circle – November - December
November 30--Gathering following Fellowship hour. Join us in November for a fabulous healing session using the Angelic Harps. These are specially tuned harps that bring a special vibration from the angels. And there will be many Angel Harp healers available to work with anyone desiring to experience the magic of being “harped.”

December 14--Bring your drums, rattles and percussion instruments for our regular drumming circle and experience a sacred journey to wholeness.

Dream Workshop -Saturday, November 22
We will be entering a mysterious and fascinating world of dreams where the rules of reality do not apply. Learn how dreams give us valid insights into the issues of our lives. Remember that a dream unifies the body, mind, and spirit. It provides us with insight into ourselves and a means for self-exploration. In understanding our dreams, we will have a better understanding and discovery of our true selves. So join us for a wonderful workshop to explore, discover, have fun, make friends, and find out –“what's in your dream!”

Annual Harvest Potluck Sunday November 23
We are so grateful for all our blessings during this season. Join us with your favorite dish and break bread in the Spirit of Thanksgiving.

Annual Christmas Party -- Saturday December 6—
The annual Christmas party is being held at the Middleburg Heights Recreation Center. Food will be catered by Café’ A Roma. We celebrate the delightful season with friendship, song and good food. You are invited to a sacred service of Candle Lighting. We celebrate the birth of light into the world with a 12 Power ceremony. Elise McKnight will perform on the small harp. Let the love of the Christ open your heart during this sparkling Season of Light. Bring a friend to share the experience with you.

Movie Night
We will not have Movie night during the holiday season. It will resume in January.

Enlightenment Study Class – 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Upcoming class will be Ultimate Journey by Robert Monroe. This class meets every Wednesday except the first Wednesday of the month. The Wellness for Body & Soul Program will meet on the first Wednesday.

Meditation Zeal
Begin this time of Silent Prayer by settling into a deepening experience of God. This is your time—a special time to communicate with Spirit. Begin by taking in a deep breath—hold to the count of 3 and release your breath in a sigh ---letting go of all concerns---Letting go of anything you may have on your heart today. Relax your body by mentally feeling the chair supporting you in comfort and peace. As you breath in and out, feel a peace enveloping your entire being and find yourself going deep within to the secret place of the Most High.

As you allow yourself to relax more deeply, feel a golden light flowing from the top of your head –stopping at your Neck. The back of the neck is where the Divine Faculty of Zeal is located. Feel the entire area of your neck being bathed in the golden light of Spirit before continuing down through your shoulders, and arms…. This loving activity is filling you with peace and joy. Allow the Light to continue flowing down into your body temple and realize a feeling of lightness…. Buoyancy…a return to enthusiasm and love.

This is a time of spiritual empowerment---a time to realize the awesome power available to you. New energy is building in you this day for you are a spiritual heir to God. All that God has is yours to use and enjoy. The gift of Zeal is one of the 12 faculties that our loving Creator has given you so that you may succeed and expand in all your endeavors.
There is a newness in this moment in time and there is a real shift in your consciousness.. Feel this shift happening now through the joy and excitement it generates. Breath again and:

As you enter the Silence, silently affirm:, ““In the stillness of this moment now--- I center myself in my power of Zeal and I am Alert Alive and Enthusiastic.”

Our time of prayer is drawing to a close. Throughout today you will feel the activity of the Holy Spirit moving through you …blessing you and renewing you in mind body and spirit. For these gifts --and for this special time, we give thanks--- rejoicing in all things and especially for the Divine Faculty of
Zeal. Thank you, God. And so it is. Amen.
